AMi GRP baffle walls are suitable for tanks spanning up to 9.0 metres wide, are quick and easy to fit to a fully constructed tank and can be easily removed and repositioned as required.
To complement their structural engineering and project management skills in designing and installing a wide range of GRP tank covers, Bristol based AMi Designs have successfully completed a number of Baffle Wall projects for customers with sites around the UK.
These include Liverpool Water and Waste Treatment, Budds Farm, a Southern Water sewage treatment plant in Portsmouth and Strabane sewage treatment works in Northern Ireland.
The AMi Baffle Wall is a simple, yet robust construction which utilises the benefits of glass reinforced fibre which has proven to be a more practical, flexible and cost-effective alternative to traditional tank materials such as concrete or stainless steel.
Based on an established design, AMi GRP baffle walls are suitable for tanks spanning up to 9.0 metres wide, are quick and easy to fit to a fully constructed tank and can be easily removed and repositioned as required.
For example, a typical installation will take one or two days to fully complete, with a 3 to 4 person crew.
The walls consist of individual glass reinforced plastic (GRP) corrugated panels that span from wall to wall overlapping each other to create a wall of almost unlimited height with adjustable top and bottom levels.
The baffle is fixed to the concrete wall using slotted and bushed fittings which accommodate movement due to differential deflections that occur in concrete walls during filling and temperature changes.
AMi supply baffle walls complete with all the necessary fixings.
Successful installations of AMi baffle walls on a wide range of tanks at waste water treatment sites in the UK include, Liverpool WwTW for ten similar storage tanks, Budds Farm WwTW for the supply, reposition and upgrade of eight tanks for Southern Water at their sewage treatment plant in Portsmouth and Strabane WwTW in Northern Ireland for two similar tanks.
